Frankly, I was shocked by the bitterness of some of the responses. Here they are:

I don't think that it's a bad idea to require passports at the border. I mean, most of us should have one since they were previously required for air travel. In the end, I think that it makes the border patrol more efficient. Instead of needing to check a number of documents, they only need to check one. I noticed when the airlines started requiring passports for travel that it became a lot quicker to get through security checkpoints. Hopefully we find the same thing happen at the border.

The only people that are unhappy about it are a few indians that want to continue to smuggle smokes and drugs.

I didn't ask for this extra security. I'm an American and I'm paying the price. It's not fair to blame me. I never voted for the passports. This is not a townhall democracy. I didn't CHOOSE this!
